BDSM – A Brief Overview
BDSM – Bondage, bondage and discipline, sadism and masochism, domination and submission and sadomasochism are the different views or the main sub-groupings when it comes to BDSM and a world where pain is pleasure and pleasure is pain.
Master and submissive, Mistress and slave, domination and submission these combinations make up the people involved in the different lifestyles and sexual behaviours.
BDSM can involve various levels of pain, but remember for some the pleasure is there for them also. Some forms of BDSM include; cock and ball torture (CBT), bound and gagged, hogtied, erotic spanking, flagellation which includes whipping, paddling and flogging.
Many of the participants of the BDSM lifestyle partake in acts that are neutral or non-sexual contexts and are considered by some to be unpleasant, undesirable or disadvantageous.
It had been considered that acts that inflict pain, physical restraint or servitude are performed against one’s will and to their detriment. However in BDSM the activities that those partaking in are engaged only with mutual consent of the participants and usually for mutual enjoyment.
Those who partake in the BDSM lifestyle always place an emphasis on informed consent and safety. The submissive or person in the submission role has a ‘safe word’ and it is always respected. In this lifestyle there is the element of trust and if the trust isn’t there then generally it is wise not to partake in these activities.
Of course BDSM can be taken further through verbal or physical humiliation, painful piercing, waxing or more extreme practices.
I remember when a professional Dominatrix visited a sleepy little town in the last state I lived in. Some of the locals were horrified that a lady such as this one was coming to visit. What surprised them even more was the amount of people including lots of men who arranged to see her.
She put on a wonderful exhibit of what BDSM was all about including verbal humiliation. Many people saw her privately while others experienced their session in front of others.
Some slaves and submissives have Masters while others have a Mistress. Some men liked to be controlled by a femdom and their time with them can also involve strap-on play. There are men that I know of that like to be treated as a sissy. So as you can see there are many ways in which BDSM can be performed and there are numerous ways a slave or submissive can be serviced.
Because this article is just a brief overview and there are many things that I still haven’t included here, I’d like to end this article on a side note about my slave. My slave and I often talk about the different things he would like to experience in a session. We do this prior to the moment and not the same day so that he has no idea what he will encounter when he comes to visit.
The pain threshold that he has is quite high and even though I love dominating him and bestowing upon him as much pain as I am able, he wants to take our sessions a little further.
